Please inform the nurse’s office of any new medical conditions such as asthma, life threatening allergies, surgeries or new daily medications.
Medications
No student is to take or carry prescription or over the counter medication while in school (Tylenol, allergy medication, etc.)
If a child, by order of a physician, must receive medication in school, District policy requires both parent and physician's signatures prior to administering medication in school. Therefore, a prescription label IS NOT acceptable in lieu of an MD’s order. A written order must be obtained.
These forms are available in the nurse’s office and in the “Medication Administration Forms” tab. The medication must be in the original container with the prescription label attached.
Screenings
Height, Weight, Blood Pressure, Vision, Hearing, and Scoliosis screenings are completed periodically, with a cumulative student record that follows the student from Pre-K to 12th grade. Immunizations and yearly physicals are recorded here as well.
Please remember to send in updated vaccinations received and yearly physicals to the health office.
Health Updates
Please follow the guidelines below to prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses like the flu:
Have you or your child stay home if they are sick, especially with a fever over 100.0 degrees.
Remind your family to cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or into a sleeve, not into the hands.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds, especially after coughing or sneezing. Use alcohol-based sanitizer only if soap and water are not available.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects.
These preventive measures are the same for all respiratory illnesses, including COVID-19.
